There are generally five main elements to the cost of a funeral:
1. Professional Service FeeOur Professional Service Fee will depend on the style or type of service provided, and generally incorporates all of the tasks and services involved in arranging, planning and conducting the funeral, including:
- Care and attention from professionally trained staff (available 24 hours a day);
- Transfer of the deceased from place of death into our care;
- Provision of mortuary care;
- Provision of chapel, hearse and one mourning coach (if required);
- Placement of newspaper notices, and attending to registration of the death;
- Making cemetery or crematorium arrangements;
- Liaising with clergy or a civil celebrant;
- Liaising with florists, caterers, musicians and other service providers;
- Provision of all necessary staff and vehicles on the day of the funeral;
- Use of chapel facilities for viewing and refreshments (if required);
- Audio tape of service held at our chapels;
- DVD/Video tape of service held at our chapels (where available).
2. Coffin or CasketThe cost of a coffin or casket depends entirely on the construction/type, quality, finish and style that is chosen.
We offer a wide range of coffins and caskets, to meet the personal, cultural and budgetary needs and preferences of your family, from simple particle board and custom wood coffins, through to solid timber and metal caskets, as well as a number of creative and environmentally-friendly options.
3. Cemetery and Crematoria chargesThese fees/charges are set by the individual Cemeteries and Crematoria, and do not vary between funeral companies.
4. Options to Celebrate a LifeWe offer a range of options to help to celebrate the life of the person who has died, including our: - Personalised Celebrated Moments DVD presentations;
- Tailored Order of Service Booklets, Mass keepsake Booklets and Thank You Cards;
- Range of contemporary Memorial Books.
5. Other Third Party DisbursementsAs well as Cemetery/Crematoria charges there are often a number of third party disbursements involved with the overall cost of a funeral, such as: - Newspaper notices;
- Floral tributes;
- Celebrant or Clergy fees;
- Music;
- Catering.
